LUCINDA MERRILL (BENJAMINE, PENELOPE, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) was born 1833 in Georgia, and died 1857.  She married WILLIAM DUKE CLIFTON 30 Jan 1853 in Hopkins, Texas.  He was born 1829 in Lawrence, Tennessee, and died 27 Sep 1858 in Hopkins, Texas.

Children of LUCINDA MERRILL and WILLIAM CLIFTON are:

                    i.    JAMES MONROE CLIFTON, b. 16 May 1854.

                   ii.    LUCINDA DORCAS CLIFTON, b. 25 Aug 1855.
