MARY JANE MERRELL (WILLIAM WASHINGTON, BENJAMIN SMITH, JOHN, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) was born 05 Oct 1841 in Carroll County, Georgia, and died Aft. 1900 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.  She married COLONEL JOHN BRAMLETT BEALL 05 Oct 1862 in Carroll County, Georgia, son of WILLIAM BEALL and NANCY CHANDLER.  He was born 19 Mar 1833 in Franklin County, Georgia, and died 09 Feb 1917 in Georgia.

Notes for COLONEL JOHN BRAMLETT BEALL:

John B. Beall was the Colonel of the celebrated Beall's Battalion, composed of old men and boys in the Civil War. He was severely wounded in Virginia and when he had sufficiently recovered, organized Beall's Battalion and commanded it to the end of the War.
