WILLIAM MERRILL (BENJAMIN MERRELL, CHARLES MERRILL, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) was born 1823, and died Dead.  He married NANCY WALKER 07 Dec 1844 in Marshall County, Alabama.

     This Indenture made the twenty second day of December in the year one thousand Eight hundred and fifty six between William Merrell of the county of Marshall and state of Alabama and Nancy Merrell his wife of the first part and Willis Stephens of the same County and State of the second part, Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of ninety five dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and bing in the county of Marshall and State of Alabama and which is known and described as follows to wit; North East 1/4 quarter of section No 23 in Township No 6 of range No 23 containing forty acres and eight hundreths and also the South East half of SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 in the North West end quarter section No 33 in Townhip No 6 R 23 containing twenty acres and 81/2 hundreths together with all and singular the tenements heredentimints and appertenances and all the Estate title and interest of the said parties of the first part herein and the said parties of the first part doth hereby conveyed and agreeth with the said party of the second part that at the time of delivery hereof the party of the first part is the lawful owners of the premises above granted and sayeth thereof in fee scripto absolute and that they will warrent and defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, In witness where of we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first written.
