ELI JOHN MERRILL (ELI, PENELOPE, CAPTIAN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) AND (NANCY MCCRARY, ANNA MERRILL, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) was born 1815 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and died 1854.  He married SARAH ELIZABETH COPE 1851.  She was born 20 Jun 1833 in Richland, Davidson, Tennessee, and died 10 Jul 1863 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
