BENJAMINE MERRILL (ELI, PENELOPE, CAPTIAN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) AND (NANCY MCCRARY, ANNA MERRILL, CAPTAIN BENJAMIN MERRILL and JEMIMA SMITH) was born 29 Mar 1820 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and died 14 Mar 1864 in Dallas, Texas.  He married (1) MARGARET FLEMING.  She was born Bet. 1816 - 1836, and died Bef. 1853 in Texas.  He married (2) SARAH ANN MANNING 20 Oct 1853 in Dallas, Texas.  She was born 26 Sep 1822 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and died 10 Aug 1878 in Dallas, Texas.

     Benjamin Merrill was a candidate for Probate Judge and Chief Justice of Dallas County.  He served as the Dallas County Tax Collector during the Civil War.
